The following objectives are covered:

  • Describe the characteristics of the regulations on APRN practice in the most restrictive (MR) states and in least restrictive (LR) states. 
  • Review a study that utilized a national database to explore whether patient outcomes for hypertension and diabetes control were better in MR states compared to LR states. 
  • Report the findings on hypertension and diabetes control in the MR states and in the LR states. 
  • State the main conclusion from the analysis in this study and the implication for health policy for APRN practice.
