Environmental Health

Through our direct service programs, we provide education on how the environment (where we live, learn, work, and play) can impact health and strategies to reduce environmental health risks among vulnerable populations. NNCC has provided comprehensive home visiting services for 20 years, offering environmental education, home assessments, and resources for families across southeastern Pennsylvania. We also provide trainings on healthy housing strategies and other environmental topics.

Our programs focus on:

  • Childhood Injury Prevention - Education and resources to prevent injury caused by home safety hazards.
  • Lead Poisoning Prevention, Detection, and Control - Lead education, lead paint testing, and reducing lead paint hazards.
  • Asthma - How to control environmental asthma triggers.
  • Climate Change - The effects of climate change on health and strategies to prepare for climate-related emergencies.
