Who we are:
Philly-MontCo Family Center is a Blue-Ribbon Parents as Teachers affiliate. We have a TEAM of certified Coaches that work with families one-on-one using the Parents as Teachers program.
Parents as Teachers is an evidence-based home visiting program focusing on early childhood education that supports families with young children, from prenatal through kindergarten, by providing parents with information, resources, and support to promote healthy development and school readiness.
What we do:
Our goal is to promote healthy childhood development by providing parents with the knowledge and skills to support their child’s growth in all areas of development.
We achieve this through:
- Personal Visits: a trained certified Coach will visit with a family to provide individualized support, guidance, and education on child development and parenting skills.
- Development Screenings: coaches will conduct regular screenings to identify and address potential developmental delays or other health concerns.
- Resources Connections: coaches will provide families with information and connections to a network of community resources that can support their needs.
- Group Connections: parents in the program will participate in group sessions, creating opportunities for social connections, interactions, learning, and support within a community of peers.
