Preventive care and other early intervention services help people stay healthy and avoid more costly care. Good oral health affects your functionality. Poor dental health can affect overall health. Many determinants impact our oral health, including challenges in accessing dental care and strategies to overcome barriers to care that can help address oral health disparities and promote overall health equity. The National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA) and the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium (NNCC) will host a webinar discussing promising practices to increase access to oral health care for residents of public housing with a focus on clinical tools and other ways to support dental health access. This webinar will feature leaders in medical and dental integration from the North Side Christian Health Center. Attendees will learn how this organization implemented mobile dentistry programs and engaged medical team members and health center leadership. Participants will also walk away with an understanding of how care teams can support oral health education and treatment and strategies for integrating oral health into primary care at health centers serving residents of public housing and other special populations.
