Pandemic Perspectives: Person-Centered Care for Individuals with Disabilities Learning Collaborative: Session One

Join the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium for a two-part COVID-19 Learning Collaborative series. Session one provides an overview of the disability population (U.S.) and introduces a person-centered approach to care for persons with disabilities. Common barriers to disability inclusion and participation are described (according to the World Health Organization) and barriers to inclusion of people with disabilities in the COVID-19 response are highlighted. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of the population with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
  • Discuss the person-centered care approach to persons with disabilities.
  • Describe the common barriers to disability inclusion & participation.
  • Highlight the barriers to inclusion to people with disabilities in the COVID-19 response.
