Telehealth in a Post-PHE World

May 12, 2023  01:00 PM  EST | Past Webinars |

The COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) was accompanied by several waivers and flexibilities that removed many of the barriers to telehealth. The PHE was extended in 90-day increments since the PHE began in 2020, but officially ended on May 11, 2023. Much has changed in the world of telehealth since March 2020:

  • Some of the temporary flexibilities and waiver have been made permanent by CMS through changes to the published Physician’s Fee Schedules in 2021, 2022 and now 2023.
  • Some of the flexibilities and waivers have been extended through December 31, 2024.
  • Some of the flexibilities and waivers have been extended for 151 days after the end of the PHE.
  • Some of the temporary flexibilities and waivers will expire on the day the PHE is declared over.

In this webinar, we review the temporary flexibilities and waivers impacting telehealth that expired on May 11, 2023, and examine the ever-evolving telehealth policy landscape and its emerging models of care. This live session contains CDC guidance that was up-to-date at the time, but may not reflect current guidelines.
