Join the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium for a two-part COVID-19 Learning Collaborative series. Session two provides an overview of life before and after the pandemic for individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD). From a person-centered approach, options were limited with regard to choosing daily activities. This webinar discusses the importance of consistent and routine activities as the cornerstones in the development of relationships with the individuals in the group home. The interruption by the pandemic will be highlighted as the normalcy in the environment changed which affected the mental stability of families, staff, and individuals with abrupt and fearful changes.

Learning Objectives:

Session Two

  • Describes the daily living environment of individuals with IDD and the staff/family involvement.
  • Discusses the communication and interpretation of the emotional upheavals for verbal and nonverbal individuals during the pandemic.
  • Describes the changes post pandemic for individuals with IDD. What we see now.
