On May 30, NNCC hosted an informative webinar focused on optimizing nursing care to advance health equity in primary care. This webinar introduced the Future of Nursing Report 2030 and explored evidence-based nurse-led models that highlight the importance of this role in promoting health equity.
We heard from Kimberly Allen, MSN, RN, CPHQ, FACHE, the Chief Quality & Innovation Officer at Delaware Valley Community Health, and from Patricia Slayton Gregory, MSN, RN at the Stephan & Sandra Sheller 11th St Health Center of Drexel University, who shared their experiences developing and optimizing their nursing workforce, including nursing students, to make a positive impact on patient health and health equity within Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
Conversations touched on navigating funding challenges for the nursing workforce while showcasing various nursing pathway roles in the community setting, going beyond community nursing clinical rotations. Whether you're watching from the nursing perspective or to learn more about possibilities to enhance your use of nurses within your health center, this webinar provided valuable insights into nursing responsibilities and strategies for improved population health.
