After Joy Ahn, a nurse home visitor, experienced that her clients were regularly choosing between breastfeeding and returning to school, she was moved to action. With the help of a team of professional public health colleagues, she co-founded the Coalition for Lactation-Friendly Schools. Their mission is to help educate legislators and the public of this loophole in legislation, and for the need to better support lactating students.
