The Franklin Institute, in partnership with the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium (NNCC), is developing toolkits for supporting elementary school-based nurses in leading COVID-19 vaccine education in school communities. The project seeks to engage a pilot cohort of nurses who will advise the development of educational toolkits for children ages 5-11, participate in training, implement toolkit programming, and provide feedback for future activities.
We encourage applications from nurses supporting schools in undervaccinated communities or underserved student populations with diverse needs and abilities.

Goals
- Develop engaging resources for elementary STEM education led by school-based nurses about COVID-19 and vaccines
- Develop an effective professional development model for strengthening school-based nurses’ expertise in STEM learning experiences and vaccine communication
Commitment
- Two 60-minute virtual advisory meetings (March and June, outside of school hours)
- One 90-minute virtual training (April, outside of school hours)
- Implementation of at least two school-based programs between April and June
- Participation in trainings and media campaign as needed
- Total commitment not to exceed 12 hours starting March 1, 2022 through June 30, 2022
Compensation
NNCC will offer a stipend of $1,000 per cohort member in recognition of the time and resources needed to actively participate in the project.
