NNCC welcomes new Congress; advocates for nursing workforce priorities

Jan 25, 2021 | Public Health Nursing |

On January 21, NNCC joined our colleagues in the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) in welcoming the 117th Congress to office. The letter, which was sent to each House Representative and Senator, outlines the NCC's core principles and emphasizes the importance of investing in the nursing workforce during this national public health emergency.

Specifically, the letter reiterates our priorities of continued and expanded funding for Title XIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs, which address nursing education, practice, recruitment, and retention, and funding for the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), an Institute of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that funds nursing research for new, evidence-based patient care practices. NNCC will continue to collaborate with the Nursing Community Coalition throughout this session to support the nursing workforce and the communities they serve.
