NNCC Statement on Reproductive Freedom and Access to Healthcare

Jun 29, 2022 | Nurse-Led Care News |

As the recent Supreme Court decision overturned Roe v. Wade, NNCC remains firm in our belief that access to affordable, high-quality healthcare includes access to safe and legal abortion—a belief grounded in our mission to reduce health disparities and meet people’s primary care and wellness needs.

Our public health nurses and staff work every day to ensure that pregnant people and young families are empowered to make informed decisions about their reproductive lives and to take the lead in decisions surrounding their own healthcare.

NNCC stands resolutely with those who fight for equal protection under the law. We call on all elected officials to enact policies that support pregnant people and new parents in living healthy lives, including the Women’s Health Protection Act, the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act, and laws that expand the availability of childcare and other family supports.
