Jan 30, 2024 | Nurse-Led Care News |

It’s the start of a new year, and everyone is looking forward to something. Whether it’s your New Year’s resolution or end of year goals, we are looking ahead! Curious to know what the NNCC staff are looking forward to? Read below:

Solving Legal Issues That Impact Health

In 2024, I am looking forward to assisting our clients heal from the traumatic effects of poverty. As a paralegal, I am speaking with clients to identify their legal issues, consulting our staff attorneys for possible solutions for our clients, and advocating for our clients everyday.
Mac Taylor

Mac is a paralegal with Health, Education and Legal Assistance Project: A Medical-Legal Partnership (HELP: MLP), a partner organization with NNCC. HELP : MLP works to improve the health and wellbeing of pregnant and parenting families in southeastern Pennsylvania by providing integrated civil legal services through public health partnerships that address harmful social and structural determinants of health. Because when patients access more solutions to health problems, they have healthier lives, families, and communities. Learn more here.

Training the Public Health Workforce

I'm excited to be able to continue educating and expanding the next generation of the public health workforce and to continue to learn how to best support them!
Kathryn Soll

Kathyrn is a Public Health Project Coordinator and coordinates the AmeriCorps VISTA program. AmeriCorps VISTA members are typically placed in nonprofit organizations and public agencies. Supporting Families Through Nurse-Home Visiting

We’ve had many families waiting to be connected with our home visiting programs, and with new nurses joining NNCC, I’m excited to see the impact we’ll make to the families who will have access to our resources. I’m excited to help our nurses in making a difference for families in Philadelphia. Our nurses handle a lot, and I like to think that the support I provide helps make their jobs a  bit easier. They take care of the clients and the Admin team takes care of them.
Miguel Orlina

Miguel is an Administrative Coordinator for NNCC. The administrative team is known to support everyone with everything, and a lot of their support is for the nursing staff. They support the nurses and broader NNCC staff by onboarding new staff, travel coordination for trainings and conferences, managing expense reimbursements, and hosting events that give a space to relax and have fun.

One goal that I would love and hope that NNCC can achieve this year, especially with PA-AC, is being able to potentially expand the mentorship program to more students beyond Southeastern Pennsylvania.
