About the Webinar

Please join NNCC and Joseph J. Peters Institute (JJPI) as we have kick off our first virtual training of the year for the Philly SPROUT (Supporting Parenting Relationships through Outreach, Understanding & Training) Project. This training session will feature two speakers, Kathleen Ramsey, PhD, licensed child psychologist, and Jamiel Owens, Family Relations Coordinator, of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Center for Autism Research.

Dr. Ramsey will present on early child development and autism from a trauma-informed lens. Her presentation will be followed by Jamiel Owens, who will discuss his lived experience as a father of a child with autism.

Registration is open.

What You'll Learn

Throughout the training, attendees will gain an understanding of autism including its causes, early signs during the first few years of life, and available support; identify similarities and differences between autism and trauma; and learn about navigating an autism diagnosis and living with autism from a caregiver’s perspective.
