Please join the National Nurse-Led Care Consortium (NNCC) and the Joseph J. Peters Institute (JJPI) for its inaugural Philly SPROUT (Supporting Parenting Relationships through Outreach, Understanding & Training) Learning Collaborative. This interactive Learning Collaborative will feature Emily LaBree, LSW, Associate Director of Specialized Behavioral Health Foster Care at Turning Points for Children, and Chartan Nelson, Executive Director at Grand Central, Inc., where they will provide an overview of kinship care and legislation, discuss the differences between informal and formal kinship care, offer considerations in working with kinship families, and provide resources for caregivers. The Learning Collaborative will be provided on a Zoom Meeting, so learners can engage with speakers and ask their questions.
During this Learning Collaborative, participants will be able to differentiate between formal and informal kinship care in Philadelphia, understand the unique challenges kinship families face and learn techniques to support them, and gain knowledge of available resources for Philadelphia families.
This Learning Collaborative will provide information specific to Philadelphia and is intended for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health professionals who provide services within the city.
